Linda Subbloie is an attorney who has operated her private practice divorce and family law firm for 31 years. Originally from Orange, Connecticut, Linda moved to New Haven about five years ago, and began to work at the marina after seeing an ad for it on Craigslist.
My favorite thing about working at the marina is that it's not industrial. The conference room is wonderful. Part of my job includes seeing people who are going through emotional crises, and they are used to attorneys with stuffy offices who don't necessarily care about the office's look or feel. The first thing that I do when we walk into the conference room is open up the window shades. The client wills it down, and for the first time during their awful situation, they will smile."
Aside from the comfort that the conference room's views bring to her clients, Linda loves the river. She pointed out that Fair Haven has a really beautiful river, but other than the marina, there isn't really a place to sit down, take in the view and enjoy it. Here, however, you can pop down to the restaurant, grab a cup of coffee, and sit on the back deck, enjoying the serenity of the water.
